I agree with Marky (I was goin to post the same thing XD). I dont quite understand the lack of features every RTS has right on release, makes little sense to me not to include leaderboards and modding.

Well I for 1 am disappointed that the ranking sytem will not be in place when the game is released. I was thinking the same thing marky was. I think that the single player game will be well polished, but i have concerns for multi. How long will it take them to get things working. Disappointed that they removed Fuel and Hydrocarbons but the fact that you can build a research station with a captured enemy engineers and have access to their tech tree sounds good.
I sure hope the connection will be good, or it will be SC/FA all over again for about 70% of people that stopped playing.
It's starting to sound better now atleast. I would prefer it if they release these updates in the upcoming months, rather then waiting years. (especially the leaderboard)Freemon @ 29 Jan : 23:38
I'm confident that gpg knows that multiplayer is key. There's no other explanation on using complex reliable multiplayer tools like Steam. Updates might be as regular or even more regular than TF2. Wait and see. every time news come out my excitement for the game increases.

Yeah well, just as long as they pull trough and update it, don't want them abandoning it too soon and start work on supcom 3 haha, not that i think they will. That reminds me, if supcom 3 ever comes in the future it better have green lasers in it, that seems so right in "3"

CT has always been the kind of guy who loves to release expansions and sequels with little time in between. Hopefully the updates will keep his devs busy XD. On a sidenote, maybe the lack of leaderboards will help everyone get to the same level when ranked goes live.

Besides, good modders can still mod it. Ladder: will be there, just not right on release, in the meantime play with your friends (if you have friends) Open Beta: closed betas are easier to track and control. Please... stop the paranoid rodeo clowns inside of you, TF2 was not the most complete game on release (bugged as ****), yet its one of the most played FPS games to date. Have some faith. |

@ 30 Jan : 20:21 common...TF2 sucked ass when it was released. 6 maps and 2 game modes. Took a few months to become the best FPS we can play online. Also, It is supposed to be the successor of Team Fortress Classic and let me remind you all that only a minor percentage of the TFC players actually moved over to TF2. Perfect valid example. Quiting or raging or threatening with "not buying" based on what is not available at release is not something "pro" community members do. Instead they should all be supporting GPG and chipping in ideas for stuff they would like to see added to the game. |

I'm not gonna go on a rant about how the game is probably gonna suck because i don't know that for a fact since i haven't played it, but you see. That works both ways, you don't know if it's gonna be good either. So how about we drop this fanboyism untill we have a chance to play the game? |

@ 31 Jan : 00:30 Exactly like you have the right to be "shocked" and the right to accuse GPG of releasing an "half baked" game, we/I have the right to defend GPG using facts and examples of other games that were not good on the release date, but got better with time (and after receiving several updates) and currently sustain some of the largest and best communities out there. |

@ 31 Jan : 00:35 , and we shouldn't forget that many of the features about which people are complaining, were either not present or not working properly (observer mode, ranked ladder) when supcom was released back in February 2007. Back then, no one complained, everyone waited patiently for the features to be fixed or added. |

Freemon Sc had ranked play and ladders when it was released. I dont know if u are saying they did not work properly, or were not there when the game came out. Live replay was added when fa came out.
